Linda Kiley

Meet Dr. Linda Kiley!  How many of you think your doctor is a ROCKSTAR?  It’s something that we all want in our physician.  Well, Dr. Linda Kiley is, by far, one of the coolest doctors in The Palm Beaches and she truly is a RockStar.  She is a specialist in her field of urogynecology, owner of the Palm Beach Center for Pelvic Health, is a 4th degree Black Belt in tae kwon do, and plays the mandoline & keyboard, and sings vocals in a band called In the Light of Led Zeppelin!  And yes, they ROCK!  Fans all over the world say “It’s not a tribute, it’s an experience!”  Be sure to click on their link to hear them play.  They are AWESOME!

As a doctor, she is intelligent, kind, caring, and compassionate.  She takes her time to look at the whole picture and charts a course of treatment specific to the needs of the patient.  She recently started a new business to do just that.  Ultra Health and Wellness provides physician-guided care that helps patients live healthier lives through proper nutrition, fitness, supplementation, and hormonal & metabolic management.  She has the knowledge to combine traditional and non-traditional modalities to bring patients lasting relief.

We would like to thank Dr. Kiley for taking the time to share her story with us and what she loves about living in The Palm Beaches.

Q: Please tell us a little bit about yourself.

I’m a physician, musician, martial artist, wife, mother, adventurer, and seeker of knowledge. From the time I could speak, I wanted to become a doctor. I was also lucky enough to be surrounded by music with an operatic soprano mom and concert pianists as cousins. I love helping people find better health and teaching others about their bodies, how to improve their health and live better quality lives. I also love performing musically and interacting with the audience and my bandmates to create an emotional bond through music. Practicing TaeKwonDo has given me strength, fitness, and a family of like-minded individuals dedicated to self-discipline, self-improvement, and peace. My family has given me a loving circle of support and a lot of laughs. I feel very fortunate to have this life.

Q: Please tell us a little bit about your family.
I have an amazing, wonderful, caring, and talented husband who keeps my business going and manages to create incredible photographic art as well as play a pretty slick bass. My twin sons are the lights of my life, two amazing grown men of whom I’m so proud! One is in Denver, supervising an entire growing operation, and the other is completing his Master’s degree in computer science. They are both intelligent, thoughtful, strong, and caring men.

Q: Please tell us about your current career. What do you love most about what you do?
I’m a practicing urogynecologist, meaning I treat women with pelvic floor disorders. I also have started a wellness practice, Ultra Health & Wellness, dedicated to helping men and women achieve better health and quality of life, and ideally improving their healthspan (as opposed to lifespan, meaning just living longer). I love giving my patients useful information on how to feel better and have a better quality of life. I particularly love telling them that they can do most of it without medication or surgery!

Q: What are a couple of your favorite restaurants in our community?
I love Christopher’s Kitchen, Brick & Barrel, Pizza Girls, Double Roads Tavern

Q: How long have you lived or worked in our community?
We’ve been here since 2001.

Q: Who is the most interesting person you’ve met here in our community?
I have met so many interesting people, most of whom have no name recognition. I couldn’t name a “most interesting” because there are just too many!

Q: If you could travel anywhere in the world right now, where would it be and why?
If I could take my family, maybe back to the Ecuadorean jungle to get away from social media, masks, and Covid19.

Q: What is one of your favorite movies? TV shows?
Favorite movies: One???? Secondhand Lions, Young Frankenstein, 2001; Favorite TV? Star Trek (original and Next Generation), – I don’t really watch much TV tbh

Q: What advice would you give to people?
Ask questions, don’t believe everything you hear, and believe in yourself.

Q: What is something on your bucket list?
Playing at Madison Square Garden, or the Hydra (Glasgow), or the Greek Theater (LA)

Q: What is your go-to band when you can’t decide what to listen to?
Probably Yes. (The band, not the affirmation!), totally depends on my mood. I like so many different musical genres….

Q: What current or former local business makes you the most nostalgic about our community?
The Brewhouse Gallery & The Kelsey Theater

Q: If you could choose anyone that is alive today and not a relative; with whom would you love to have lunch? Why? And where locally would y’all meet for this lunch?
It would have to be a comedian or a writer or both. Maybe Dave Barry or Lewis Black. Probably Christopher’s Kitchen or Aladdin. Or maybe Pho 16. I have a great appreciation for the absurd, and if I was going to sit down with a stranger, I’d want to have a conversation with someone who also appreciates the absurd. If you asked me a different question, such as, whom would I choose to have a musical jam session with, my answer would be quite different. I’d love to jam with Robert Plant, Tedeschi Trucks, Hot Tuna, the Who, the Rolling Stones; any time, any place!

Q: What is your favorite thing or something unique about our community?
So many great musicians, so many talented and fine human beings here

Q: Where do you see yourself in 5 to 10 years?
Lecturing and teaching others what I have learned, and playing a lot more music.

Q: (Even for friends or family), what is something interesting that most people don’t know about you?
Hmm, most of my friends/family know I used to be a skydiver, taught medical Spanish to PA students while in medical school, made TV commercials when I was a kid, played organ and piano for church while growing up, but few people know I received the Betty Crocker award in High School for getting the highest score on the senior home economics test (I never took home economics in school, they just gave the test to all of the graduating senior girls!)

Q: What is the most beautiful place you have ever been to?
Ireland, or maybe Montana. Actually probably inside the human body. Seeing the inside of a living human being is one of the most beautiful things ever.

Q: Favorite month? favorite holiday? and best single day on the calendar?
June. Thanksgiving, September 14

Q: What would you rate a 10 out of 10?
1. Being a mom to my kids 2. Music performance 3. Learning new things

Q: Who inspires you to be better?
My sons

Q: What is one or two of your favorite smells?
Roses, roasting coffee

Q: Finally, what 3 words or phrases come to mind when you think of the word HOME?
Love, Refuge, Family
